Why Resiliency?

What happens when we face adversity?

How do we deal with hardship?

How can we move forward and get past our worst fears and failures?

Resilience describes the ability of one to respond in a positive manner when placed in front of adversity. It is not the act of fixing what is broken, but the ability to find resolve in the face of struggles. It’s the ability to bounce back and strive towards a goal despite of the past.

In one way or another, we as humans have all faced hardships and adversity.

The statement that, “there is good stress and there is bad stress,” implies that we are able to face good stress and develop into a better person because of it. Good stress is needed to strengthen our abilities and help us hone in on our skill to face even bigger and better challenges. However, bad stress on the other hand is too much of one person to handle and its the stress that can break someone down. The stress that is overwhelming and too difficult to face alone. In truth, stress cannot only be categorized into two types. Simply put, people of all ages face stress, adversity, and hardships. Such that comes in all shapes and sizes. As well, stress seemingly comes at inopportune times, it can be constantly there or come in increments of time. So what do we do?

The effects of stress, adversity, and hardship will reveal themselves in many ways, however, resiliency is the tool to help relieve the pressure. My goal is to share ways to help us all take charge of our own resiliency. The better we are at facing life’s challenges the more joyful and happier we can be.
